The Kingsway Legion Branch 175 hosted its annual gala event on October 28th, 2017 with the theme of Forgotten Hero in the Far East to commemorate Canadian soldiers’ contribution in the Far East region in WWII.
The organizer hopes that through the gala event more people will learn about the seldomly mentioned battles and those heroes will not be forgotten. A singer-songwriter wrote a song “Forgotten Heroes” to pay tribute to the Canadian troops in the Hong Kong battle WWII.
