St Joseph High School celebrates its 12th annual A Taste of St Joe’s Extravaganza on November 17th. A school teacher, Erminia Fuerderer, started this cultural project many years ago when she was teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). It then has been the spring board from ESL class to a school wide project that it is today. The objective is to promote, embrace and celebrate culture through sharing of cultural food, performances and exhibits. In the beginning, there were only 8 countries and 30 students participating. Now it has increased to nearly 30 countries and over 250 students. Over the last 12 last years, A Taste of St Joe’s has been organized via a club called “International Languages and Culture Club”. Many students see this cultural project as a highlight of the school year. Two students will show you what makes A Taste of St Joe’s so special and excited.
