Edmonton Korean Basketball Club (EKBC) was hosting its 8th Annual Basketball Tournament at the University of Alberta on March 29th. There were totally 8 teams competing. One of which came from Calgary. The final 2 teams, visitor from Calgary and one of the home teams 86ers, tied at the end. So EKBC did something different to rule out the winner by sudden death shoot out. Everyone was holding their breath when Calgary team took the last shot. Finally 86ers won the shoot out and became the champion of EKBC Tournament of 2014. The tournament promotes not only basketball game but also social networking in the Korean community. The Korean basketball teams in Edmonton and Calgary are planning to join hands forming an Alberta team to visit and play other Korean teams in the United States.
