National Aboriginal Day is annually held on June 21 to celebrate the heritage, culture and achievement of the Aboriginal people in Canada. The first National Aboriginal Day was proclaimed in 1996. June 21 is right on or near the June solstice during which many Canada’s Aboriginal people have been celebrating their heritage and culture for many generations. Han TV checked out the celebration at the Legislature grounds in the capital city of Alberta in 2014. Here are the highlights.
