Promotions company The Promo Syndicate and marketing company Diversus Media Group kicked off YEG Chinatown Events, a new initiative to boost business activities and public perception of Edmonton Chinatown, with the event “Taste of Traditional Chinese Comfort Food” at Sai Woo Restaurant on June 15th, 2016.
This event drew a crowd of 80 people to Sai Woo Restaurant that has very long history in Chinatown area. Participants were offered a 10 course meal with traditional dishes that are not found on typical Chinese restaurant menus and program including games and storytelling hosted by a special guest, local author and playwright Marty Chan who shared his unique experience in Chinatown.
The group will continue to boost new energy to Edmonton Chinatown Business Revitalization Zone by organizing awareness-building functions like Mid-Autumn festival, Lunar New Year celebration and other events highlighting food and retail in the area.
